Timberbond Glulam is normally supplied pre-coated with one coat of water repellent preservative agent (2 coats on the end grain) to provide temporary protection against humidity and wet weather until the product is installed on site. Alternative factory applied surface coatings to suit specific project requirements may be specified.

Appearance Grade A Glulam members are protected against damage during transport by wrapping with craft paper. Care must be taken during shipping and lifting to avoid mechanical damage. Timber packing, careful selection of lifting points and the use of non-abrasive straps or slings are essential practices. On-site storage with adequate shelter from the weather and adequate support clear of ground must be provided for the product.
